Right Reverend Dennis Debukari Tong, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Tamale, has said God dwells in humans as Christians and not in the confines of a church building.
He said Christians had the responsibility of making themselves the dwelling place of God, adding that the spirit of God needed to stay in the hearts of His people.
He said this in a sermon in Tamale on the theme: “You Are a Dwelling Place for God.” Right Reverend Tong said Christians’ relationship with God was not based on where they served but how they served Him, adding, “Our concerns should not be about where God is housed.”
He said, “God can be worshipped anywhere and everywhere because God is spirit. All we need is to ensure that our worship is in sincerity and in truth.” He said God had made His dwelling place among humans; hence it was prudent for Christians to keep their bodies holy for His spirit to dwell.
