Fake Diaspora Vote C?ttee Funded To ?Invade? Ghana

THE rogue so-called Diaspora Vote Committee (DVC) of the USA is being funded by the Ford Foundation of the USA to the tune of over US$30,000 to invade Ghana on or around October 21, 2005 to hold a series of Press Conferences and to elicit public sympathy for the need to support the NPP?s Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill (ROPAB) so as to enable Ghanaians resident outside Ghana to register and vote in the 2008 elections.

According to our sources close to the DVC, the NPP Government has realized that the ROPAB is not at all a popular Bill in the country and that its passage through Parliament will be stormy. The party has also learnt that the NDC is planning a major action in relation to the Bill. The NPP has therefore set up the rogue DVC which has compiled a position paper on the ROPAB under the auspices of one Kofi Boateng, which they intend to use in a public relation blitz on the Bill in Ghana.

Kofi Boateng works with the Ford Foundation, and was placed at the helm of the Foundation by the NPP Government. From that position, the Ford Foundation is poised to assist the NPP Government in its plans to remain in power and to retain power in 2008, which project they see as very difficult to achieve without the ROPAB.

Our sources say that Kofi Boateng has assembled a gang of mostly Ghanaian NPP sympathizers with whom he is flying down to Ghana to debate the Diaspora vote issue with Ghanaians.

Our further information is that the Kofi Boateng-led group of about 12 overseas Ghanaians will be arriving in Ghana on October 21, 2005 and will stay for about one month. They plan to stay at the SSNIT Guest House where they have budgeted to pay between $250-$300 for the five days each. The group includes representatives from London and Botswana.

Kofi Boateng gives his address as Kofi A. Boateng, CPA, Chief Operating officer, The Africa-America Institute, 420 Lexington Avenue, Suite 1706, New York, NY10170-0002, Phone: 212-739-7850, Fax: 212-818-9505.

It will be recalled that in our issue Vol.11 No. 80 of Tuesday, July 26 ? Thursday, July 28, 2005, under the headline, ?This Group is Fake?, we published a picture of some members of the Asante Association of Washington DC, taken during the annual dance of the Association by Ghanaweb.

The fake picture was used on the Internet to represent the executives of the so-called DVC, a claim that was swiftly rebuffed by one Maxwell Prempeh, President of the Asante Association of the USA who also exposed the hoax and the fraud.
