Freddie Blay To Campaign In New Posh Vehicle (0)

The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Freddie Blay, has bought an expensive Nissan Pajero car, specifically, for his election campaign in the Ellembelle constituency in the Western Region.

Bearing registration number GW438R, the cost of the fully air-conditioned ‘royal limousine’, can make newspaper headlines, according to conservative estimates by experts.

Close associates wonder whether the poor folks in his constituency, who are fighting HIPC economic battles, will hail their ‘king’ with such shows of affluence and renew their mandate to him.

Others believe the Deputy Speaker is actually being truthful in displaying, what he has managed to acquire within the past three years.

Perhaps, they argue, it is this “flight into the realms of wealth, that makes him ‘talk’ on behalf of the NPP and openly supports the candidature of Mr J. A. Kufuor, as flagbearer of the party".

Members of the Convention People’s Party, the party, on whose ticket Mr Blay is in Parliament, have in recent days, openly called for sanctions against the Deputy Speaker, for what they describe as “acts of disloyalty” to the party.
