Following NDC Routing NPP In Security Voting
“Do Not Attempt To Subvert The Will Of The People Else….”
Dear Mr. President,
We the officers and men of the Ghana Armed Forces request you to ensure that the 28th December Presidential Re-run is carried out peacefully within the rules of free and fair election. We are aware of the moves to use our service commanders to influence the second round of the elections.
The picturesque details of the results of the Special Votes in the military barracks must tell you of the position of the troops.
Be reminded that the service commanders being influenced, only issue out orders but execution is exercised by the officers and men on the ground. We wish to state that we shall not hesitate to move in if you deny the people their legitimate rights and disenfranchise the citizens. Note that rigging an election is another form of coup d’ etat. Therefore the world shall not blame the Ghana Armed Forces if we went a step further to prevent you from carrying out your plan.
We are, at this juncture, calling on the international bodies interested in the peace of this country to bring pressure on our president to be civil and respect the wishes of the people.
We would advise the President to end his term successfully and retire to enjoy his privileges as a former president. However, any attempt by him to influence or intimidate the voters will not be accepted by us.
The world shall not blame us if they stand by and look, whilst the rich and power drunk deny the poor masses of their rights. A word to the wise is enough. We are more than the armored cars that are driven around on the streets. When the time arrives those very cars would be pointing at you.
Yours, Concerned Soldiers.
