Prof. Mills’ Doctor Angry…

Unimpeachable reports reaching The Moon newspaper indicate that the South African doctor who is taking care of the flagbearer of NDC, Professor, John Evans Atta Mills’ health is angry with him. This follows Prof. Mills not strictly adhering to the medical instructions given to him by his medical advisor.

According to the report, the NDC flagbearer is long overdue for medical check up in South Africa, but he has brushed it aside and engaged in campaigning at the peril of his health apparently to demonstrate to the founder of the party, Mr. Rawlings that he is working hard to win more supporters for the party. Prof. Mills who many political pundits have described as a fine gentleman but in the wrong party has come under immense pressure from the founder of the NDC, Mr. Rawlings who still thinks that the Law Professor is not doing enough for the party.

Prof. Mills last visited South Africa about eight months ago where he had a thorough check-up after which he was advised to refrain from doing lots of things. It would be recalled that Prof. Atta Mills’ health became a big issue when Dr. Spio Garbrah, one of NDCs presidential aspirant (as he was then) in their last national delegates congress said openly during one of his campaign tours to the effect that Prof. Mills was not medically fit to lead the NDC for the 2008 general elections. Since then NDC propagandists have tried in vain to rubbish the health problems of their flagbearer.

They even claim that the Law Professor is even stronger now than in 2004. The last time Prof. Mills went to South Africa for medical review, the deputy General Secretary of the party, Baba Jamal said the party’s flagbearer was off to South Africa for what he described as routine medical check up. Prof. Mills, whose search for medication for what he says is a sinus ailment first took him to China, from where he moved to South Africa. The NDC flagbearer in an interview with a radio station in Accra said that he had to be transferred from China to South Africa because he could not understand mandarin, a Chinese language.

A lot of Prof. Mills’ sympathizers are of the opinion that he is putting his presidential ambitions ahead of his health. Prof. Mills believes that he is destined to rule Ghana as such it matters not what happens to him in his quest to achieve his ambitions. In answer to a question with a radio station, the Law Professor said ‘clearly there are those who don’t want Atta Mills to stand, but Atta Mills will stand and win, he asserted.
