AC Milan chief Ariedo Braida is stepping up his interest in Udinese midfielder Sulley Muntari.

The Ghana international has been a long-term target for Braida, who sees the powerful ball-winner as an alternative in Carlo Ancelotti's squad to Rino Gattuso.

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo is ready to sell Muntari, but only for the right price. Portsmouth refused to meet his £8 million demands for the African during the winter market.
