Striker Jordan Ayew is in Ghana as his French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient resumed training on Monday to prepare for a French Cup assignment on Saturday.
Lorient is to travel to lower division side Avranches for their Coupe de France round of 32 tie.
Although there has been no official communication, it is suspected that the 23-year-old has been permitted to join Ghana’s provisional squad to prepare for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
He is one of five strikers listed by new Ghana coach Avram Grant for pre-tournament camping in Spain after the New Year.
Jordan is in top form after netting six Ligue 1 goals in 17 matches to help his side end the first half of the season in 15th position- three places above the drop.
He will be making his second Africa Cup of Nations appearance after debuting at the 2012 finals co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
