Ablade Kumah pays tribute to former playmate Shamo Quaye

Former Hearts of Oak star Ablade Kumah has paid tribute in remembrance of his former teammate Shamo Quaye.

Today marks exactly 19-years of the demise the midfielder (Shamo Quaye) who won the hearts of Ghanaian football lovers with his dazzling display.

The celebrated National star was a member of the Men's National team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

Ablade Kumah who played together with the deceased both at Club and National level has paid a warm tribute to his pal.

“Today marks exactly 19-years Shamo died, I am very sad, he was such a good person,” Kuma said.

“Apart from the fact that he was a good player, he was humble and respectful. I pay yet another respect to him and may he rest in peace in wherever he is now.”

Shamo Quaye also played for Saudi Club Al-Qadisiyah and Umeå in Sweden.

Quaye - nicknamed 'Shamo Wonder' is remembered for his sheer artistry, silky passes and graceful footwork in his midfield role; 'Bebeto' for his apparent mesmerizing likeness to a Brazilian World Cup winner of his day.
