Seoul (SK), Sept. 11, GNA - Even after the Black Starlets inability to garner any medal, Ghana's striker Sadick Adams became a toast and a topic for discussion at the Seoul U-17 World Cup Sports Sttadium media tribune on Sunday by both Korean and other international journalists about the player's absence in the final match against Germany.
The discussion was based on the Ghana's weak forward line and the slow pace of their game against Germany and that the presence of Adams was always very strong and instrumental in most of Ghana's goals in their previous matches.
Some of them wondered why coach Sellas Tetteh had to replace him in the semi final match against Spain, which they indicated attributed to Ghana's defeat.
They described Adams as a wonderful player who combines strength with speed but needed some counselling to cool down his temper and to improve upon his goal scoring chances.
Some of the players of the Starlets also expressed their disappointment in coach Tetteh for substituting Adams in the match against Spain.
They said even though Adams had received two yellow cards and was obviously to miss the next match, there was therefore no any merit in replacing him since he was then a threat in the attacking line of the Starlets.
"Ghana did not deserve to go home empty handed", remarked Jake Brown, a UK journalists reporting for The African Times.
Prior to the semi final game against Spain in Ulsan, Times Sports Reporter John Vigah had hot verbal exchanges with coach Tetteh over the need to concentrate on his team instead of thinking about what journalists were reporting from Korea.
Indeed since then the Starlets had never won a game - an indication of the fact that the coach had really lost focus.
Starlets might have lost in Korea but some top officials attached to the team gained tremendously since they capitalized on the 'cheap' Korea market and engaged in vehicle business transaction instead of focusing on winning the cup.
This is the first time the Starlets had failed at the semi final level of the competition.
The Starlets are scheduled to leave Korea on September 10 for Ghana with empty hands but the players need every commendation for reaching the top four.
