Accam’s Chicago Fire debut ends in stalemate

Black Stars attacker David Accam made his long awaited debut for Chicago Fire FC in their 0-0 draw with Norwegian club Stabaek in the PDX Pre-season Invitational competition on Sunday evening.

The 24-year-old was deployed on the wing of the Fire attack to support lone striker Kennedy Igboanannike in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The ex-Helsingborg forward will have to start preparing for Fire’s next assignment in the pre-season competition against fellow countryman Adam Kwarasey’s Portland Timbers on February 25.

The final friendly match will be against Ghanaian defender Gershon Koffie’s Vancouver White Caps on February 28

Accam’s Chicago Fire are using the PDX Pre-season competition to prepare for the March 6th Major League Soccer season opener against LA Galaxy.
