By George Osei

Sensational Accra Celtic Football Club on Sunday beat the national U – 20 team of Benin 2 – 0 on their pre season tour the West African country.

Goals in each half by Stephen Owusu and Richard Bonsu, won the day for the Accra based 2nd division club who are on tour ahead of the start of the new season.

The Ghanaians made a promising start in this game, taking the action to the home team as they dominated play in the middle of the park.

A fast move from midfield saw Owusu run unto a through ball, and the striker slotted the ball past the advancing keeper for the opening goal on their tour of the West African nation.

Thereafter, Accra Celtic controlled the game, holding up play very well with William Donkor (Anelka), Emmanuel Adu Gyamfi and Michael Oppong being very strong in midfield.

The second session followed a similar pattern with Accra Celtic being the more dominant team and it was little surprise they scored their second goal midway through the half.

It came from the foot of Richard Bonsu (Balotelli) who connected another through pass from midfield as the defence of the Beninoir looked on helplessly.

After this goal, the technical team of Accra Celtic made a host of changes to give other players a feel of the game as they continue their tour of Benin.

The team will play a couple more games in the West African nation before heading to Dubai to continue with their preparations ahead of the start of the Greater Accra 2nd division league soon.
