Adansiman F/C face financial crisis

Obuasi, Sept 26, GNA - First Division Adansiman Football Club is facing serious financial crisis that has led to the non-payment of players' monthly salaries and their winning bonuses. Mr Davasford K. Akowuah, a Director of the Club who disclosed this to the GNA Sports at Obuasi after losing 8-0 to Kessben in their DOL match at Kumasi said, "At present we cannot pay the players winning bonuses, their monthly salaries and transport allowance to and from the training grounds".

He added that, "the Club even owes transport owners whose vehicles were hired to honour 'away' matches during the first round". Mr Akowuah said the Club has in addition not been able to pay the technical team whilst the rent of the coach was in arrears. The Club's Director pointed out that the team was well placed in the Zone 2A League but because of financial constraints the players were not motivated enough to move ahead.

"It was therefore because of the financial situation facing the Club that the team paid dearly in our match against Kessben who were second to us because the players went into that match with empty stomachs".

Mr Akowuah said with the loss to Kessben, the Club has now moved down from the first position to the fourth with 16 points but gave the assurance that with a little support, "We can regain the first position once more".

"We need sponsorship and we are therefore appealing to soccer enthusiasts, well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to come to the aid of Adansiman especially in this time of its financial crisis", the Director added.

Mr Akowuah also appealed to well-to-do Adansi citizens to support the Club to regain its past glory as one of the oldest soccer clubs in the country.
