Obuasi, Sept. 20, GNA - Division One League campaigners, Adansiman Football Club has relieved Mr Charles Ofori Mensah, their Accra Representative of his duties for financial malpractices.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), signed by Mr K. Barimah Acheampong and copied to the GNA Sports said, "The Club has revoked your appointment for gross financial malpractices and failure to represent the Club at Disciplinary Committee meetings."
The letter cited an instance where a protest lodged against Norchip FC in Kumasi for fielding an unqualified player had to be quashed because Mr Mensah failed to attend the sittings of the Disciplinary Committee.
"The Accra Representative's failure to attend the GFA Disciplinary Committee meeting did not only cost the Club financially but also robbed it of three precious points," the letter stressed.
Mr Mensah has therefore been advised to surrender all documents of the Club in his possession to the management without any further delay. The letter advised all Clubs to desist from doing business with him on behalf of Adansiman, because 'it will be at their own risk'. Mr Davasford K. Akowuah, a Director of the Club told the GNA Sports that Mr Mensah collected a cash of 600,000 cedis from the Club for the payment of two red card fines but failed to pay the money to the GFA. "His attitude, practices and other activities have caused a lot of financial loss to the Club," he said.
