Afienya United beat VORA 2-1

Cape Coast, Jan. 5, GNA - Afienya United started their National Zone Three sub-middle league on a bright note when they beat VORA 2-1 in their league match played at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium at Cape Coast on Tuesday.

All the goals were scored in the first- half. Afienya indicated their determination to carry the day after referee Joseph Macarthy signalled the two teams into action and scored the opener in the 27th minute through their midfielder, David Oppong. VORA hit back and levelled up the score in the 33rd minute through their inside right, Fafa Felix.

Afienya United after the equaliser increased the tempo and took absolute command of the game and no wonder they scored the match winner through outside right, George Armah in the 44th minute. In another match played at Sekondi, King Solomon beat Hotspur 1-0.
