Accra, Oct. 20, GNA--Great Afienya United's chances of qualifying for the premiership next year, suffered a severe jolt when they were held to a 1-1 drawn game by Tema Sportnet in their penultimate Division One League(DOL) match played at Legon on Sunday.
Afienya who needed the three maximum points to brighten their chances for the Sub-Middle league, had to fight from a goal down in the 15th minute to come on level terms with their opponents when right winger Steve Adade scored the much-needed equalizer in the 75th minute. It was Sportnet who piled pressure on their opponents and snatched the leader through inside left Nurudeen Collinson when his free-kick beat goalkeeper Jonas Ametepe of Afienya .
Disaster however struck Sportnet in the 30th minute when their centre forward Baba Mohammed was sacked for rough play but Afienya could not capitalise on their numerical advantage to score more goals as their attackers messed all chances that came their way.
