Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has backed his teammate Andre Ayew to prosper in Serie A should he move to Italy.

“Andre is a solid player and can adapt to Roma once he’s signed,” began the Udinese midfielder, as reported by Tutto Mercato Web.

“I know you will do well in Italy.”

Ayew had looked set for a switch to Roma last week, with terms believed to have been agreed between player and club. The midfielder is available on a free transfer this summer, with his contract at Olympique de Marseille coming to an end in June.

However, while Roma have no need to agree a fee for the player with OM, Calcio Mercato reported that the Giallorossi and Dede were unable to agree on a deal.

Bruno Satin, the player’s agent, admitted that his client was holding out for a yearly salary of €3,000,000 at the Stadio Olimpico, equating to €57,691-per-week. However, despite securing a spot in the Champions League, it appears that Roma are unwilling to commit to Ayew’s requested outlay.

Despite Badu’s insistence that Ayew would prosper in Italy, the Premier League remains an appealing option for the attacking midfielder.

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be keen on the international, with Calcio Mercato recently claiming that the London giants were the favourites to recruit the player following Roma’s struggles to tie Ayew down.

Dede himself has made no secret of his admiration for English football, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“It's true I'd like to play in England,” Ayew began.

“I'm 25 now and it is a good age for me to take the next step in my career. I have offers from England, Italy and Germany but it would be unfair to say who from. I speak to my friends such as Morgan Amalfitano at West Ham and Joey Barton at QPR and they always talk well about the league and the atmosphere.

“I have been fortunate to experience Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford in the Champions League but I want to play at Anfield and other grounds."

Ayew’s transfer future remains uncertain, although at least Badu is confident that Italy would be a safe bet for the OM star.

Beyond Roma, Inter Milan are also believed to be considering a move for Ayew.
