Akaminko won’t kill for national team

Defender Jerry Akaminko will keep dreaming of playing national team football but the former Heart of Lions captain will not do nothing about the possibility so far as Black Stars selectors continue to ignore him.

Turkey based Akaminko is disappointed his name was once again not on the 23 man list released by Goran Stevanovic for the double header against Swaziland and Brazil within the coming week, however he reveals that he has the heart to take it.

“I am disappointed of course but it won’t affect me because this is not the first time I have been left out. They know that I’ve played national U-17, U-20 and U-23 so they know what I can do.

“Maybe it is not my time and it is the coach who will call me, I can’t force them,” Akaminko told ALL SPORTS via phone from Turkey.

Whilst living the disappointment and preparing fervently with new club Manisaspor for the September 9 commencement of the Turkey top flight league, Akaminko prays incessantly that coach Stevanovic casts his net wider next time.

“It’s amazing to put on the national colours and I can’t wait for the chance. I just want the coach to watch me play, I will love that. Even if he can’t come, he can ask for CDs of my games and I believe he will see that I can also be useful to Ghana.

“I am always with the team in spirit and praying that they win against Swaziland and Brazil,” Akaminko said.
