Former Ghana captain CK Akunnor is worried that the long-dragging Goran Stevanovic saga could affect the country’s World Cup qualifying chances.
Akunnor, currently a national Under-20 assistant coach, says the uncertainty about who will be Ghana coach could prove fatal in the long term.
“People are worried and I can understand because it has gone on a bit too much. The fans want to know, the players want to know and it must be done quickly,” Akunnor said.
“Remember there are two games to play in June, but even beyond that if a decision is made we can deal with more pressing issues rather than continue to debate the future of the coach.”
Ghana play Lesotho and Zambia in June in 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
