Alhaji Gruzah is autocratic – Coach Abugri

Former coach of Kumasi based King Faisal, Stephen Abugri has taken a swipe at the bankroller and founder of his former side, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, describing him as a dictator and a difficult person to work with.

Abugri who is a professional teacher and holder of UEFA License B and CAF License A coaching certificates took over the King Faisal job in the second round of the Polytank Division One League 2011/12 at a time Faisal was languishing in 6th place at the end of the first round. Mr. Abugri however made a remarkable turnaround for the side in the second round and succeeded in qualifying the team back to the Premier League. But his experience as a Premier League coach only ended six matches into the season after he reportedly clashed with club owner, Alhaji Karim Gruzah. Currently with Okwawu United, Coach Abugri told Gbc Ura Radio Sports in Bolgatanga that it is very difficult to work with Alhaji Gruzah. “It is very difficult to work with Alhaji, he is a very difficult man. A man who does not appreciate anything about his coach and always believe every success is for him whilst every failure is for you the coach,” Coach Abugri revealed. He further minced no words: “And he will always impose his autocratic dictatorship on his coaches and when you refuse to accept his decisions then he labels you as a bad coach. He thinks he knows everything in the world.”

King Faisal are searching for their 3rd coach after just the first round of the 2012/13 Glo Ghana Premier League season following Mallam Yahaya’s resignation this week over unhealthy working relationship with club owner, Gruzah.

“He told people that I do not respect him that is why he asked me to step aside. Now Mallam Yahaya the man who took over from me has also resigned, citing interference in his job by Alhaji Gruzah as the reason for his withdrawal. This is an ample indication of how hard and frustrating it is to work with Alhaji Gruzah,” Abugri lamented.

Faisal ended the first round of the league in 10th spot on 18 points.
