All Blacks Chairman donates to orphanage, hospital and two schools

Agona Swedru, March 11, GNA - The Chairman of Swedru-based Gamba All Blacks, Mr Toshihiro Iwasa has donated assorted items and two photo copier machines worth 14,000 dollars to a number of institutions in the Agona Swedru Traditional Area. The beneficiaries include the Mother-care orphanage, the children's ward of the Swedru Government Hospital, Swedru School of Business and Swedru Senior High School.

Mr Iwasa also presented 1,000 dollars to the Mother Care orphanage towards the upkeep of the inmates of the home. The items included boxes of baby hampers, infant powdered milk, bales of assorted used clothing, mosquito treated nets, assorted food items as well as five bags of rice and two bags of sugar. Mr Iwasa who is also the Chairman of Humanism, Pacifism, Education and Ecosystem (HPEE), a non governmental organization based in Accra said the donation forms part of the social responsibility of his organisation to render to the people, especially those in the Agona Swedru Municipality with the needed assistance. He said the items given to the hospital is expected to help alleviate and reduce the burden facing the authorities in the provision of food and other health care needs of the patients especially those admitted at the Children's ward.

Mr Iwasa said the presenting of the photo-copier machines is meant to help reduce the huge cost of making photo copies of documents and materials by the school authorities from private sources. He therefore urged the authorities of the two educational institutions to take care of the machines to help reduce cost of their secretarial demands and usage.

The Chairman said the donation of the items and cash to the various institutions, health facility and orphanage was also to make the people in the area to benefit from the efforts of the foot club in the Swedru Municipality by making them enjoying from the passion of the country. Mr Kwadwo Amoh-Mensah, Secretary of the NGO said the next presentation would be focussed on ecosystem development in the various communities in the country.

He said the first donation has gone a long way in tackling at least some problems confronting the health and education needs of the people in the area and expressed the hope that subsequent donations would be provided to other needy communities. He explained that the problems of the ecosystem was of prime concern to the NGO and assured the government that it would do all it can to ensure that the ecosystem is well managed and protected.
