Swedru, Sept. 29, GNA - Swedru All Blacks completed a double over Odupong Heroes with a 2- 1 victory in their Zone 2B Second National Division One League match at Odupong. Odupong Heroes who lost their first round game by 3-1 and are yet to find their rhythm in the League, lived above their whipping boy status throughout the game and showed strong intensions of causing havoc on the day.
After dominating in the early parts of the game, Heroes shot into the lead in the 20th minute through Charles Aryeh and that resurrected All Blacks from their slumber as they quickly organised themselves to clinch the equaliser ten minutes later through the efforts of Kwame Akwapong. All Blacks after the goal, maintained a sustained pressure on the home team but squandered the many opportunities that fell their way to keep the score line at the end of the first half. Determined to win the game, Odupong again took over the proceedings on resumption of the second half and initiated series of moves aimed at finding another goal but found the defensive network of the visitors
impenetrable. As the game progressed, veteran Willie Brown of Starlets 91 fame combined effectively with Akwapong to snatch the match winner in the 80th minute after a volley from the latter fell his way to tap in easily into the net.
