Accra, Nov. 14, GNA - Tudu Mighty Jets' Aaron Amoah's stunner in the 58th minute was enough for the struggling side to grab the three maximum points at the expense of Accra Hearts of Oak in their 11th week Premier League match at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on Sunday.
Amoah, who posed constant threats to the defence of Hearts, weaved his way through the Hearts defence, putting away Philip Boampong, before delivering a perfect shot past agile keeper Sammy Adjei, which eventually became the only goal of the match.
The spectacular goal from the former national under-17 player was perhaps the most exciting moment of the game, as the two sides failed to sell a quality game to the enthusiastic soccer fans. Both sides, right from the start of the game, struggled to put their acts together and could hardly create clear cut scoring chances rendering the game an unexciting one.
Even though the 58th minute goal brought some urgency on the part of Hearts as they moved in droves into the area of the Jets in search of the equalizer, the likes of Obed Ansah, Douglas Nkrumah, Edwin Pele Osei and Wilson Andoh failed to make use of several scoring chances in a game they failed to stamp their authority. Jets in an attempt to defend the solitary lead, however, adopted the delay tactics to the game through intermittent feigned injuries leading to a yellow card on keeper Frank Andoh. Their fake injuries did however not in anyway deter them from holding on to the unorthodox approach which really worked to perfection for them even after five minutes of added time by referee Jonathan Tetteh. Jets with the victory have thus now moved two places from the bottom with eleven points, after a streak of loses at the start of the season.
