Amputee Boss Strike Deal At AFCON 2013

Francis Adjetey Sowah, substantive President of the Amputee Football Federation of Africa(AFFA), the continental body for amputee football, is in serious discussions to move Amputee sports to a higher peak .

Sowah met with CAF as well as south African football Association bossb Kirsten Nyamatandeni to move the amputee body forward .

In their fruitful discussion ,CAF will assist in providing opportunities and support to people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, and as well encourages . According to Sowah CAF is on course and will be empowering amputess achieve their full potential through education, support, and advocacy.

Amputation is a surgical procedure that is performed to remove all or part of a limb or extremity. There are several causes as to why amputation must be performed, such as trauma; illness, such as diabetes; or infection at a distal site. The process of amputation is complex and typically involves rehabilitation therapy and potential prosthetic devices. While it is a complicated medical process that has affected millions, amputation has not stopped many people from continuing to live active and healthy lives.
