Anagbla wary of Botswana threat

Jordan Anagbla, Vice President of Ghana’s football association has singled out debutants Botswana as Ghana’s biggest threat as the Black Stars take a crack at winning a first Africa Nations’ Cup trophy in 30 years. Botswana were the first team to qualify for the tournament aside the co-hosts and take on the highly rated Black Stars in their first game come January 24 in the Gabonese city of Franceville. Mr. Anagbla insists the Black Stars face their biggest test in that game.

“People have shared their views on the group. But I think Botswana will be the side that we should really watch out. There are no novices in the game now and having seen them qualify from a difficult group, trust me they will be tough opponents for us,” Mr. Anagbla told *SportsInGhana.com.*

But the man who also sits on the Black Stars management committee is confident the national team will be up to the task of claiming that elusive fifth Nations’ Cup title come February 12, 2012 in Libreville.

He told SportsInGhana.com: “It’s important that we take all the teams in the group seriously since they will want to go all out and cause an upset against us. But I believe we know the terrain and if we play to our best, I believe we will be good value for the trophy.”
