Supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak have served notice that they would abandon the team’s second leg Caf Confederation Cup match against Esperance if players’ salary and bonuses are not cleared.

Obviously irritated by the turn of event, Ali Horoya, told myfinalwhistle.com in an interview that he was going to lead a campaign to ensure that supporters of the club do not attend the all-important fixture against the Tunisian club.

Myfinalwhistle.com reported on Wednesday about the seeming tension brewing among the playing body, as they protest the nonpayment of salary and bonuses, which have been in arrears for the past three months.

The players have since resolved to boycott the match if management fails to pay them.

The orgainser of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) — supporters wing of the club— said the current management has done nothing to address the plights of the players in spite of several dressing room agitations.

“Some of us are aware that the players have, on several occasions, called on management to pay their outstanding bonuses, but to no avail… So this time around we are all going to urge the players to be very firm in their demand and let the management understand that if their monies are not paid they are also not going to play.

“…And if the monies are not paid on time, as supporters we are also not going attend the match because we are tired of all this shameful attitude by the management,” Ali Horoya painfully retorted.

The Phobians, who remains Ghana’s sole representative in Africa, take on Esperance on May 31 in Accra with the hope of overturning a 4-0 deficit.
