Ghana coach Claude Le Roy has compared his sedulous midfielder,Anthony Annan,to France international Claude Makelele, in his prime.
Anthony Annan was impressive in his Nations Cup debut in the Black Stars last Group A game against Morocco. He repeated another stellar performance against Nigeria on Sunday.
''He showed yesterday,he's got skills the time it was necessary to show that.Anthony Annan unfortunate for us he's playing in second division in norway,'' Le Roy told the media.
''With his potential he can play anywhere.in term of skill, tactics,in term of reading of the game,he's very close from Claude Makelele(he is a utility player for Chelsea). He has the same qualities.''
The Frenchman admitted he has been a long time admirer of the Norway-based player.
''The first time I saw him he was playing at the right in Tema for Hearts of Oak.I was more than impressed by him and he disappeared like it sometimes happen in Ghana and I wanted to see him one more time and i hear he was norway.
''Like Makelele in the beginning of his career, and i think that he's very very close in terms of quality as to these players.''
