Appiah in Africa's Best 11

Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah?s impressive performance in the just-ended African Cup of Nations has been endorsed with his selection into the tournament?s All Star team, representing the best 11 players in the tournament.

The selection by the CAF Technical Study Group Committee, placed Appiah in an elite group which includes Cote d?Ivoire?s Didier Drogba, Camerounian Samuel Eto?o and Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan who was voted the tournament?s most valuable player.

Ghana?s centre-back John Mensah was selected into reserve team which includes Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Ivorian Arouna Kone and Lomana Lualua of DR Congo.

Best Scorer: Samuel Eto'o of Cameroon (5 goals)
Best Youth player: Mikel Obi of Nigeria
Best Goalkeeper: Essam Hadary of Egypt
