Obuasi (Ash), Feb 28, GNA - Obuasi Ashgold SC advanced to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup on a 2-0 aggregate when they earned a 1-0 win over Sewe Sports of Cote D'Ivoire in their second leg encounter at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi on Sunday.
Mohammed Aminu scored the only goal of the match in the 34th minute against the run of play with a terrific drive.
Ashgold playing with a virtual weak midfield, that was openly evident in the first half failed to impress their fans in most parts of the game. The visitors who exhibited some brilliant football pushed the game to their opponents but poor finishing up front eluded them of the needed goals.. The Ivorians also brought on Baligoe Jacoubes and Iakpe Bahui for Davis Donalds and Bilate Sulemani and nearly cancelled the lead two minutes into injury time.
