AshantiGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo has confirmed receiving a letter from head coach Bashiru Hayford requesting his accumulated leave.

But says the league winning coach is yet to granted permission.

"Yes I received a letter from coach Bashiru Hayford around 9 am yesterday. The heading of the letter is asking to step aside. He is requesting for an accumulated leave he should have had but a decision is yet to be taken,” he told Kessben FM

“It's true the management signed many of his documents but it's in consultation with the board. In this situation, we have to consider who will be replacing him as a caretaker coach before we grant him the permission.

“His letter and my swearing-in as the GHALCA chairman has clashed so it is difficult but will meet the board when I return to Obuasi."

AshantiGold are currently in the drop zone on the Ghana Premier League table.

They are lying 14th with just 12 points from a possible 33 and have been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup.
