The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Wednesday presented gifts to the Black Stars at a ceremony at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The items included five cartons each of milk, Milo drink, fruit juice and sugar.
The donation comes ahead of the team’s World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho on Friday.
Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, the Regional Minister, said the gesture is to motivate the Stars to put up an extra effort for the task ahead and promised that the RCC and football fans in the Region would give the team every necessary support for them to win the match convincingly.
The Minister urged the players to work hard and play their hearts out to beat their Lesotho counterparts to brighten their chances of qualification for the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Mr. Felix Ansong, a Member of the Black Stars Management Committee, received the items on behalf of the team and thanked the RCC for the gesture.
He appealed to the people in the Region and other parts of the country to throng the stadium in their numbers to cheer on the Stars to victory.**
