AshantiGold beat Dwarfs in a friendly match

Cape Coast Feb.14, GNA - Visiting Premier side, Obuasi AshantiGold on Sunday beat Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs 3-1 in the second leg of their friendly soccer match played at Robert Mensah Sports stadium in Cape Coast.

AshantiGold earlier in the week whipped Dwarfs 4-0 in the first leg of the friendly match played at Obuasi last Wednesday. The friendly matches were part of the preparations being initiated by Dwarfs towards the National Middle League and it exposed some deficiencies in the home team, which the technical bench has promised to rectify.

Right from the blast of the whistle, it was the AshantiGold lads who dominated play and scored the opener in the 25th minute through a spot kick taken by midfielder, Dan Asamoah.

Dwarfs resumed the second half strongly and came on level terms when they also earned a spot kick in the 48th minute for inside right, Richard Quainoo to slot home.

AshantiGold from then on took absolute control of the game and kept Dwarfs goal area under constant pressure and rightly banged in two more goals through outside right, Mohammed Polo and substitute, Richard Awuah, in the 75th and 80th minutes.
