AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjo Fianoo has revealed that the club is in residential camping ahead of their CAF Champions league clash with Algerian side MO Bajaia.

The Obuasi-based club will battle the Algerian side in the first leg of the elite African club competition on the 14th February at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.

The Miners ahead of their Champions League clash have played some trials matches including the FirsTrust G6 tourney where they failed to prove their championship status.

Ahead of their titanic clash with the Bajaia-based club, the CEO of the club has revealed that his side is currently in residential camping, putting their house in order before 14th February clash.

“Africa participation is different as compared to the local league. Normally, in the league we go to camp on Saturday and after the league game we break them but Africa we have started preparation and the players are in residential camp where we can supervised their diet and other things.

“So we have confident in coach Bashiru Hayford and his back room staffs to build a winnable team for the 14th February game,” Fianoo told Boss FM.

The Miners will be returning to Africa for the first time in four years after winning last season’s Ghana Premier League.
