AshantiGold outplayed and massacred Bibiani Gold Stars 5-0 in a friendly encounter as a preparation to keep the players of AshGold in shape towards their league match against Kade Hotspurs slated for Sunday at Kade. Though AshGold had suffered an away 0-1 defeat to the Bibiani lads in a similar friendly game on the Independence Day early this year.
Ricky Essuman opened the score-line in the 4th minute when he connected home a well-taken in-swinger by Kofi Deblah with the defenders of the visitors been caught ball watching. Ricky nearly increased the tally in a minute later but his left shot missed the post by inches to the relief of the sister mining club. AshGold proved their superiority up-front when the likes of Kofi Deblah, Matthew Attiogbe, Ofosu Amoah, and Adu Gyamfi bombarded the goal area of Gold Stars with series of shots with Ricky Essuman and Joseph Jackson beautifully supporting the attack from the midfield.
In the 22nd minute Kofi Deblah blasted a powerful shot that zoomed straight into the net after Ricky Essuman had beautifully laid a perfect pass for the second goal. Gold Stars sensing danger made two quick changes in the 25th minute but could not yield any results.
Kofi Deblah increased the score-line in the 26th minutes when he dummied two defenders and slotted the in the net. Issiaku Zakari set the Stadium alive in the 50th minute when he waded through a number of Gold Stars players and placed the ball at the wrong side of the goalie for the 4th goal.
AshGold made substitutions in the later part of the game with Gabriel Opoku-Ware, Kwaku Wiafe, George Owu and Solomon Opoku taking over from Kofi Amoako, Alfred Arthur, Fatau Dauda and Kofi Deblah respectively.
Adu Gyamfi fired from a close range following an indirect ki ck that beat the goalie for the 5th goal after the goalie had grabbed a back pass. The pattern of the game was however a one-way traffic in favour of AshGold but could not register another goal until the referee brought proceedings to an end.
