Ashgold share points with Chelsea

Berekum Chelsea held Ashgold to a 1-1 drawn game to end the first round of the Glo Premier League played at Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi, on Sunday.

Both sides went into attack in search of an early goal from the moment referee John Atikese signalled a start to the duel. However, Ashgold booked an upper hand and scored in the 8th minute when Latif Mohammed's cross was headed home by Louis Agyeman, with goalkeeper Micheal Sai all stranded.

Chelsea took the challenge in their strides, and trio, Jordan Opoku, Latif Salifu and Sadick Adams raiding the host backward with countless onslaughts all in search of parity.

The visitors soon had their efforts rewarded when they earned a free-kick just outside Ashgold’s penalty area in the 30th minute.

Edward Kpodo, stepped forward to effect the kick, and powerfully executed that to beat goalkeeper Isaac Akrong, to ensure Chelsea journeyed back home with a point.
