New Malaga signing Christian Atsu is confident of getting his club career back on track after struggling to settle in England.

The 24-year-old completed a half-season loan move to the Spanish side from Chelsea on Monday, following an injury-ravaged stint with Premier League side Bournemouth.

The winger made only two League Cup appearances during his loan with the Cherries before returning to Chelsea in December.

“I am ready and eager to prove things at Malaga,” Atsu told reporters at his unveiling on Tuesday.

“Each league is different. Many people know the Spanish league is fast and technical, and I think I can adapt to this kind of football.

“My goal is to get this club as high as I can. Do my best and get playing time. It was my decision to come to Malaga. Today, I had my first session and it went well, I met the coach and my team mates.”

Malaga currently lie 12th on La Liga standings after 21 round of matches.

Atsu added: “Malaga is a fantastic club and has great fans, and I saw that when I came here with Porto. I think I will be very happy here.”

Before moving to Bournemouth, Atsu spent a season-long loan at Everton where he made only five league appearances.

The former Porto, Rio Ave and Vittesse Arnhem man could make his La Liga debut on Saturday against Eibar.
