Ghana defender Awal Mohammed has cancelled his contract with his Moroccan side Raja Casablanca after just a season with the club.

Both parties are yet to comment on their separation which was reached eight days ago.

Awal joined Raja Casablanca as a free agent after cancelling his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab.

Before that, he was playing in South Africa with Maritzburg United where he was a key member of the set-up.

The 28-year-old defender made 22 appearances for Raja Casablanca who finished 5th on the Moroccan league table.

Awal was part of the Ghana squad that finished second at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations where he played in the opening Black Stars defeat to Senegal.
