Ex national star Awudu Issaka still habours the ambition of playing for the Black Stars.
The 32-year-old rose to prominence as a teenager when he starred in Ghana’s triumphant journey to the World U-17 crown in Ecuador 1995.
Popularly known as the ‘Disco Dancer’ for his silky touches and immense skill, Issaka has however since failed to realize his full potential.
Stints with European clubs in Belgium, France and Germany was not even enough for the lanky playmaker who now trains with juniors in his residential area to keep fit.
He has however exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com, he is not finished and will work hard to earn a national team call-up yet again as he sorts out his club career.
“Awudu Issaka is not finished, once there is life and God, there is always a chance for me to get to the top once more again,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I had trials in Turkey but they have asked me to come back and then join them in January when the transfer window opens so I am back home training with the U-17’s in my area to make sure I maintain my fitness.”
