Sunyani (B/A), Nov. 21, GNA - BA Stars and visiting Kumasi Asante Kotoko settled for a barren draw in their Glo 12th week Premier League match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday. Kotoko, who had lost four matches on the trot before this game, showed the same abysmal performance and could have lost, but for poor anticipation on the side of BA Stars.
BA Stars could have scored at least three goals in the first half but Amos Kwasi Frimpong, Oscar Amponsah and Larbi Coomson wasted the chances. On resumption, Kotoko resumed the game with renewed vigour, but they were frustrated by BA Stars goalkeeper Mohammed Nurudeen. Coomson, the livewire of BA Stars, was red-carded by FIFA Referee Mercy Tagoe in the 52nd minute when he fouled Ofosu Appiah of Kotoko by intentionally pushing him down.
Despite playing with 10 men, BA Stars, who played better than Kotoko in all departments of the game, managed to hold the visitors until the end of the match.
Earlier, the match between the reserve sides of both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. 21 Nov. 10
