Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says Kwadwo Asamoah’s injury predicaments must be of concern to all Ghanaians.

Asamoah, 27, has played just three Serie A games for Juventus this season due to recurrent injuries, having undergone an operation to correct a persistent knee problem in December 2014.

“One thing I worry about is Kwadwo’s frequent injuries,” Badu told Kasapa FM.

“I know what he has done for me as a player. Before I arrived here [Udinese], he was already there. He accepted me and we used to do several things together.

“He is a great talent that God has gifted Ghana with but has been battling with injuries.”

Asamoah was left out of the Old Lady’s squad that triumphed over Fiorentina on Sunday in the Serie A as well as the team that romped to a 4-0 win over Torino in the Copa Italia on Wednesday due to fitness concerns – days after making an injury return in a 2-0 victory over Lazio.

“I know he will get over it,” Badu assured.

“I have been talking to him and I know it is very hard for him, but I know him to be a strong guy. Injuries affect the form of any player but when he returned against Lazio, he put up a good show.

“At the moment, we all have to pray for Kwadwo Asamoah because he is a national asset and Ghana need people like him in our team. Also, we feel proud any time we see him play in the Champions League.”

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed Asamoah would not be rushed back into action to avoid complications.
