Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu was in a bad mood following his side Udinese’s 4-0 defeat to AS Roma in the Italian Serie A opening game at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

After a goalless first-half, substitute Diego Perotti scored twice from the spot to break the deadlock before a goal each from Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah completed the riot later in the game.

Badu, 25, was one of the culprits for the penalties conceded by the Zebrette, after he brought down Mohammed Salah in the box on 75th minute.

"That was a heavy defeat and we apologise to our fans, who travelled to come and watch the game "Badu told his club's website.

"We started the game very well in the first half and it was a balanced game but in the second half, we switched off completely and started committing lots of mistakes that resulted in the conceding of four goals at the end including two penalties.

"I apologise for the penalty too but now, there is nothing we can do rather than to stay united and focus on the next game against Empoli," he added.

Badu, who is in his sixth year at the club, has been linked with a move to Premier League side Stoke City.
