Baffour fired up for Stars against Chile

New Edubiase striker Emmanuel Baffour is in the USA with the Black Stars as the national team prepares to face Chile tomorrow in a friendly international. Baffour is back in favour after the decision to drop him ahead of the recent Cup of Africa Nations backfired as Coach Goran Stevanovic’s strike force came short in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

But the leading scorer in the Glo Ghana Premier League is not overly concerned with the past and is focusing on the job he has to convince everybody that the Ghana number 9 position must become his. Baffour who scored yet again over the weekend to bring his tally to 14 in 15 games, has told ALL SPORTS he is ready for the big stage.

“There can be no question about my readiness. As a footballer, you have to be ready all of the time. It’s the work so you have to maintain your fitness and be ready all of the time,” an ecstatic Baffour told ALL SPORTS yesterday after acquiring his visa for the trip.

He added: “We are praying that what we are doing here, we shall be able to go and do same and even more for the Black Stars. It’s always about hardwork.”

Baffour is also urging his fans and countrymen to get behind him and the national team.

He told us: “They should always continue to support me with their prayers because I’m determined to work hard to make them proud.”
