Balotelli Wants To Play For Italy, Not Ghana

Recently, the Ghanaian FA claimed they would like Inter teenager Mario Balotelli to play for their national team, as he was born in Palermo to Ghanaian immigrants before being adopted, however, the player has dismissed the approach via his agent.

The 18-year-old has only represented Italy at the Under-21 level thus far and can still choose between the two national teams, but his brother/agent, John, has said that 'Super Mario' has already made a decision.

“Mario does not plan to play in Ghana, a nation to which he is only bound by his birth parents - his goal is to become part of the [Marcello] Lippi's squad,” the player’s representative told Telelombardia.
