Banahene: Saudi League not bad

Newly called Black Stars player Emmanuel Osei Banahene thinks the Saudi Professional league is not as bad as people think and he is ready to prove a point with the senior national team.

Banahene, who plies his trade with Al Orobah in the Saudi league, has defended his decision to move from Turkey to Saudi Arabia.

“The Saudi league is more competitive than some leagues, I doubt why people are questioning my decision to join a club in Saudi Arabia.”

“There are top players, who are plying their trade in the pro league, for me, it’s one of the best leagues in the world, fine, there is no way we can compare that to the English and Germany league but we all cannot play in that league.”

Meanwhile, the former Heart of Lions striker added that he will make a case for himself when given a starting role in the two upcoming AFCON qualifiers.

“I cannot say that I will start or not, it all depends on the coach and who he picks, but I’m ready to fight for a position in these games, I’m ready and ready to prove my critics wrong.”
