SAMMY KUFFOUR'S value may have dropped following recent poor performances in the Bundesliga, casting doubt on his projected move to Barcelona.

While the Spanish giants had hinted over the last few months that they are interested in the services of the Ghanaian defender, suggestedly being ready to pay 36m DM to Bayern, Barcelona agent Bernd Schuster has now stated: "He is a good defender, but Barca would never pay that much for him."

Schuster recently met Kuffour in a Munich restaurant for secret talks and as a consequence, Kuffour was fined by Bayern. Since then, Kuffour has been making crucial blunders in Bundesliga games, and Barca now seem likely to look elsewhere in their hunt for a commanding centre back.
