Baretto 'detains' Tierro

Dansoman based Liberty Professionals are said to be annoyed with former Black Stars coach, Mariano Barreto over the continued stay of striker William Tierro in Europe.

The player has stayed on in Portugal several months after undergoing trials with French outfit Bordeaux and Russian side Lokomotive Moscow at the behest of Baretto.

Liberty are reported to be fuming over his refusal to return to Ghana despite several attempts to get him into the country.

Barreto took a shine to Tierro during his stay in Ghana as manager of the senior national team and handed the player several call-ups into both the Black stars and the Olympic football team.

Tierro left the country earlier this year to undergo some trials in Europe after his one-year loan deal with Kumasi Asante Kotoko run out.

Liberty Professionals loaned Tierro to Asante Kotoko for a reported 200million cedis, but the flop striker failed to endear himself to the Porcupine Warriors averaging less than ten goals in his stay at Kumasi.

Liberty are keen to have the player feature for them in the ongoing Premier league campaign.
