Head coach of Okwahu United, Ibrahim Merigah, has said newly crowned MTN FA Cup winners Bechem United did not deserve to win the trophy after his side was defeated by two goals to one in the final on Sunday.

Yaw Arnol struck a double to win 2016 MTN FA Cup title for Bechem United as the Hunters claimed a 2-1 win over Okwawu United.

Arnol hit the opener for Bechem on the 55th minute mark but Akoto Danso levelled for the Soccer Mountaineers before Arnol sealed the win for the Brong Ahafo Region-based side.

Speaking to the media after the match, Coach Merigah, who won the cup as a player with Okwahu United in 1986, expressed his disappointment as he said he wanted to win the trophy as a coach too.

“I am very disappointed because they [Bechem United] don’t deserve this trophy and I wanted to win it as a player and a coach,” he stated.

Okwahu United received GHS15, 000 as runners-up in the competition.
