Betway Talent Search is a football scouting initiative aimed at unearthing football talent in up and coming footballers between the ages of 18 and 25. The first stop is the northern capital of Tamale, taking place over the weekend at the Nabisco Park.

As its lead Coach, the Talent Search competition will have former Black Stars captain, Technical Coordinator for the national football team and official brand ambassador for Betway Ghana, Stephen Appiah.

Other members of the scouting team include Maxwell Konadu, Eric Antwi Ofori, Mohammed Gargo, Twumasi Forkuoh, Sam Johnson and Godfried Aduobe.

The Betway Talent Search aims to attract 500 football hopefuls, of which 24 will be selected by our panel of coaches and scouts.

According to Betway Ghana brand ambassador Stephen Appiah, his motivation for being part of this initiative and endorsing it stems from his desire to see grassroots football revived in Ghana and is reminiscent of how he was discovered as a footballer.

Speaking ahead of the Talent Search trials in Tamale, Mohammed Gargo, an ex-international who is part of the scouting team indicated that, “projects like these give aspiring professional footballers the opportunity to exhibit their talents and make it to the top''.

The Betway Talent Search train continues to Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region on Saturday, 11 August then to the Ashanti capital of Kumasi on the 18th of August, moving to the Cape Coast on the 25th of August and lastly to Accra on Saturday, 1 September 2018.
