Accra, June 28, GNA - Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a Ghanaian International Evangelist and soccer enthusiast, on Sunday observed that the Black Stars are just two steps away to make history at the FIFA World Cup Tournament in South Africa. " With the favour of God on our side, we are moving one step at a time to win the coveted world cup," he told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.
Dr Tetteh said the unceasing prayers of Ghanaians have brought the favour of God on the national team, stressing that so far, only Senegal and Cameroon had ever reached the quarter finals of the world cup tournament. He asked the Black Stars and the technical team not to forget that it is the hand of God that has translated into the successes the stars have chalked out so far. " I congratulate the Black Stars for lifting high the flag of Ghana, Africa and the Diaspora. They have made the African Continent proud through their achievements," he said.
Dr Tetteh observed that the Stars are using the tournament as a platform to market Ghana to the world, which he said have socio-economic dividends for the country. " If a small hitherto unknown country sitting in Africa should win the world cup, it will be a big economic boom to the country even in tourism alone," he said.
