Black Stars to play Uganda in Accra

Ghana’s senior male football team, the Black Stars will play their Ugandan counterparts, The Cranes in Accra in September.

The Black Stars are also paired with Togo and Guinea in Group ‘E’ for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

Coach Kwesi Appiah’s team will want to win to ensure a smooth take off to the qualifying campaign as they aim to win the 2015 nations Cup to end Ghana’s 32 year wait for a major title.

Ghana’s FA sources have confirmed to sportscrusader.com that the qualifier will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium and not the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi as has been rumoured due to travel arrangements.

Ghana’s FA officials are said to have favoured the move for the game to be played in Accra so the Black Stars squad can travel out to play their next game which would be honoured 4 days after the Uganda game.

“We want the game to be played in Accra to save time because we will have to fly out almost immediately for the second group game and to play in Kumasi could delay our travel arrangements because we don’t have to forget that players of the team will need rest ahead of the next game” the FA source told sportscrusader.com.

Coach Milutin Sredojevi? Ugandan team were the fourth team to qualify after beating Mauritania to make up the list of seven teams to advance from the second leg matches of the second round of the qualifiers.
