Black Wonders beaten

Accra, Aug. 17, GNA - Ghana's National Deaf football team, the Black Wonders last Sunday lost 1-2 to South Africa in the first leg of the qualifying series of the World Deaflympic Games played in South Africa. The two nation's are vying for Africa's only slot for the football competition at the Games scheduled for Melbeourne, South Africa, next year.

In spite of the defeat, the team stands a chance of making it to the games due to the vital away goal scored in South Africa. Information gathered from the Secretariat of the Disabled Sports Association indicates that the team is back in the country to prepare for the second leg game to be played on August 29, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
